Kaeden @ 7 months

Only a nurse visit @ 7 months.
He' weighs16 lbs 1 oz and we did the lost shot of the rotavirus.

He's still happily breastfeeding on demand and also happily BLW-ing. The perfect combination!

CUTE CONVERSATIONS WITH MY CUTE KIDS

MOMMY: Bryce, don't you think Daddy is the most amazing person in the whole world?

BRYCE: Nooooo, Daddy is not a person. Daddy is....Daddy  (3 years and 1 month old)


MOMMY: Bryce, why do you love Mommy?

BRYCE: Because you stay home with me. ( 3 years and 3 months)

BRYCE, after picking him up from school where he had been shoveling dirt with his best friend, Olen:

Kaeden @ 6 months

So, this is Kaeden at 6 months and 1 week old:

- weight : 15 lbs 8 oz
- height: 26" 1/4

Kaeden is standing up

6 months and 2 weeks: Kaeden is not only crawling and sitting like a pro but he's now just started to push himself up to a stand. Very excited to see what his next developmental step would be.

Kaeden BLW-ing - week 2+3

Phiii....time flies, that's all I can say and when you have two little ones in toe, Oh boy, it flies even faster.:)
It was a real BLW-ing feast in the real sense of the word, as we've celebrated Thanksgiving day with lots of new foods for little Kaeden to try:

Vegetables: sweet potatoes, green beens,

Fruits: mangos, watermelon, orange, apple

Meats: turkey and veal

Breads: home made croissant

Dips: yogurt

Cooked food: omelette, soups

He's getting so good at holding foods and actually putting them into his mouths, he's pincer grip is also getting better and better each time.

Kaeden BLW-ing week 1

As Kaeden turned 6 months old, we started the fabulous and amazing concept of BLW-ing.
He's really adventurous with the food and ready to try the choices in front of him.

For the first week we tried:

Fruits: banana, raspberries, grapes

Veggies: boiled potato, boiled carrot, steamed broccoli with olive oil,  raw tomato

Pastry: bread, puffs, mum mums

Fish: salmon

He pretty much exceeded my expectations and he didn't only played with the food but some stuff ended up  in his belly.:)

Kaeden learns how to sit

5 months and 3 weeks old and Kaeden learnt how to sit from the crawling position. He's such a persevering little kid.

At a little bit over 5 months, here's Kaeden growth:

weight: 15, 2 lbs

height: 26"

We redid the Rotavirus, Pc and Polio and although he didn't have any fever he was a bit cranky that day.

It's official! Baby Kaeden is moving @ 4 months and a half. He's pushing on his hands and sliding back on his belly. He's so persistent that I think he'll be crawling in less than a month! And I thought Bryce was fast with these milestones.:)

My baby is 4 months already.

Weight: 14 lbs and 11 oz

Height: 25 3/4 "

We redid the 2 months vaccines" DTaP and HIB

No problems after 24 hours, no temperatures or any other weird reactions.

As far as milestones, he's rolling over from back to tummy, lifts up his head, sliding on his belly, sitting pretty well.

La 3 ani

Ai implinit 3 ani si esti minunat! Nici nu pot sa cred cind au trecut zilele si noptile nedormite!:)
Esti vesel, si curios, si creativ si activ!
Iti place sa faci curat (il iubesti pe Ignacio, gradinarul si Estella, femeia care ne ajuta cu curatenia in casa). Si-ti mai plac masinile de gunoi, de pompieri si de politie. Iar pe linga asta, esti un artist de seama, cinti la chitara si la tobe si esti plin de insipiratie. Si de vreo 4 luni incoace esti si un Frate mai mare exceptional!!! Iar peste toate astea mai esti si bilingv! Iti vorbesc in romaneste, ma intelegi la perfectie si-ti place sa-mi raspunzi in engleza.:)
La Multi Ani, micuta mea comoara! Esti un copil deosebit si TE IUBESC din tot sufletul meu!!!


PS: am facut si prea uritul MMR. Ai trecut cu brio si peste asta!!!

Kaeden at 3 months

My little baby is already 3 months. 3 crazy months with daddy being away, moving a whole house, visitors from Romania, tons of unwanted advice.:)

He's been rolling over for already 2 weeks now. I thought Bryce was fast, it seems baby boy 2 is a lot faster. :)

Anyway, this is how he grows:

Weight: 14 lbs

Height: 24 3/4"

Vaccines: Rotavirus, Pc and Polio. Again, no fever, no side effects.

We're heading towards 4 months. I'm feeling like the hardest of periods is over, although there's so much more to come.

Weight: 12 lbs 13 oz

We've started the immunization schedule, following Bryce's:

So, he got the DTaP and HIB. No side effects, no temperature.

Baby Kaeden @ 1 month

Or almost 1 month. Baby Kaeden@ 3 weeks and 2 days has the following measurements:

-he weighs: 10 lbs and 5 oz
- he is : 21 1/2 " tall;

I guess the every 2 hours breastfeeding on demand pays off.:))

May 9th 2012...5:55 pm! This will be your birthday, my sweet baby!! You were 8 lbs 4oz, 19"1/2, I delivered you absolutely naturally with no epidural or some other drugs what so ever!!!
Our little family is growing and we'll have so much have fun together!!

So close.....

OMG!!! I just can not believe I'm so close to my due date!! I can not believe we'll have a new little one to hold in our arms!!! We're so excited and can not wait to meet the new member of the family!!!
I hope you'll like us Kaeden ' cause we're already head over hills in love with you!!!

The talking business

Those who said it will come a time when a switch will go on in your child's brain and he'll say from one word to 10 words from one day to another, well, they were perfectly right.
Since our Bryce turned 2 1/2 years old, it seems like there's another kid taking space into his body. A kid who talks...a lot.:)
It's amazing to hear the amount of words and sentences coming out of his mouth!!! Sometimes we're wondering "where does that come from"? It's so much fun to see his vocabulary blossom but also I believe it makes him feel good being able to make himself understood so much easier.
At this point, I can say for sure he's 100% fluent in English, everything he says is in English with the exception of 2-3 Romanian words BUT he understands absolutely 100% of everything I say to him in Romanian and he's more willing to repeat Romanian words every time I ask him to.
So, for all the bilingual parents out there: "don't give up and continue talking in your native language to your kids! It will pay off one day, you'll see".:)

The whole brain child

The whole brain child is a book that has been recommended to us by Bryce's teachers at Children Circle Nursery. 
For me, this book was a completion to The Happiest toddler on the block by dr Harvey Karp. The book deals, as the title implies, with the child brain and how it works and develops throughout its growing and how much better we can do as parents, knowing and understanding how to deal with our kids at this level.
As dr. Karp beautifully explains in his book how the right brain takes control over the left brain, especially in little kids (1-4 years old), the Whole brain child takes you a step forward and explores the brain world a bit deeper, talking you about the "upstairs and down stairs brain", presenting real life examples and situations on how to deal and connect with your child emotionally from toddler years 'til 20 years old.
Although, sometimes, the book seems a bit to heavy in academic content, it's a well written book and there is a lot of helpful information in it.
As I stated above, I will highly recommend it as a continuation of dr. Karp's journey.

A real toddler

Bryce is almost 29 months and he has changed so much since 5 months ago when he just turned two.

His vocabulary is growing every day, more words, more ways to express himself.

His connections are so impressive and his solutions to situations amazing.

I love how he tells me now when he's hungry, thirsty or has other feelings which he describes so much more easily and better than relying solely upon my mother instincts.

In a short phrase: My baby is a big boy. It can sound frightening but he's still my little one and always be.:)
