The mysterious virus

I really don't know exactly what it was but after 2 weeks it is gone with no particular treatment.
Symptoms:
- 4-5 poops a day with a bit of mucus, not very runny, not green, no blood, no foul smell, no vomiting, no fever;
- he was not bothered by it, he was very active, he still had an appetite all this time;
Personal treatment:
- in the first days I gave him rice, rice crackers, bananas and BIOGAIA probiotic in the milk bottle;
- after 5 days of this diet, I started give him normal foods again, just keeping in the mix the probiotic;
One week later and no change, I called the doctor and asked her if I should worry. Meanwhile, he had a bit of a diaper rash ( I suspect from the no of poops). Our doctor advised to wait one more week and if the poop doesn't go away or symptoms aggravate we should go in.
Less than week later, he's back on track, one poop a day.
And BTW the rash is gone ( I used DESITIN).
He had for sure something in his belly (in my opinion, I find it totally normal as he's interacting with other kids, they share foods, toys etc not to mention that he plays outdoors, puts his hands in his mouth), no matter how much you try to clean his hands, chances are he will manage "to eat" some dirty hands). I'm happy his little body fought it all by itself and that it wasn't something serious.

Oops!!! Poop!!

I've just got this article on poops, and I found it very useful for future references.
Sometimes, you just freak out when you see all the colors and textures so to have a picture guide in your virtual pocket is not something bad at all.
Take care and pay attention to the poop!! :)

Banana's on the menu

This week was Banana week!!!!
The recipe: 1/2 of a ripe banana and 1 tablespoon of formula, I smashed the banana and mixed everything in a bowl.
Conclusions:
- he liked it very much;
- no allergies or any other weird side effects;
- a daily, very good poop, a little bit harder, darker and smellier ( actually I could see bits of bananas in it), but no constipation, diarrhea or vomiting;
This week I also teased him into BLW a little bit. Meaning that I went out to a lebanese restaurant and they gave some unsalted pita and as Bryce was reaching for it, I gave him some. He was a happy camper to just chew on it. So, I'm confident that in the very near future we will do some more of that.
I notice in delight that he has a very good hand-mouth coordination ( e.g: he grabs the spoon and puts it right into his mouth with an amazing precision) and that he develops very good skills in grabbing all kinda of stuff ( sometimes food is on his way :))
Next week we will try some pear. Hope it will be another hit. We will let you know.

4 months check-up

Last Thursday, December 10th we had the 4th month check-up. @ almost 4 months, my baby is:

- 14 pounds 10 ounces
- 25 3/4 inches

We, also, repeat the 2 vaccines from 2 months : Deptacel and HIB. No side effects.

Today, December 14th as we were doing our morning routine, more specifically, the tummy time, my baby started to crawl....ok crawl is too much to say, it was more "warm-wl", meaning from the tummy position he started to push his legs moving forward. So funny to watch but in the same time one more step in his development.
Oh, wait, I have to go, he pooped BIG TIME.:))))
We will be back.

The first 3 months

I've waited for these 3 months to pass. Just because everybody speaks about them as the milestone, as the forth trimester, that basically is a time of fussiness and acknowledgement of the new world.
Bryce only cried if hungry, not even dirty diapers seemed to bother, slept quite ok for a baby ( so not so many sleepless nights, almost any for papa).
Now, that he's already 3 months and half ( Geez I feel he's so big already), I've decided it's time for me to start and write some thoughts, day to day data, basically record his development with a little bit of fun, laugh, poop, milk and rock'n roll. So, let the fun begin...
